About CTE

Career and Technical Education prepares students for a successful transition to college and the workforce while providing students with skills to become productive citizens and lifelong learners.

In Bradley County, we are proud to offer 29 CTE programs of study Program of Study with active Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSO).   In the four secondary schools, Bradley Central High School, Walker Valley High School, Lake Forest Middle School, and Ocoee Middle School, all teachers are industry certified and highly qualified.

The purpose of Career and Technical Education is to provide:

Career Exploration. We have two Career Coaches serving Bradley County with a variety of Career Exploration activities beginning at the Elementary Level at 5th grade.

Career Preparation. Maintaining an educated workforce is essential to a productive society.  Through the skills and competencies of the Programs of Study offered in the CTE courses, we are preparing the students for future career opportunities.

Leadership development.  Career Technical Student Organizations, FFA, FBLA, FCCLA, HOSA, DECA, Skills USA, and TSA, provide the students with the opportunity to enhance leadership skills through competitive events, community service projects, and individual leadership activities.
