During the transition year, 2019-2020, Career and Technical Education across the state of Tennessee will move from Perkins IV legislation to Perkins V. While much will change, one component that will remain the same during this transition year is the Perkins Reserve Grants. In an announcement last week from the Tennessee Department of Education, Bradley County Schools was awarded five of seven available grants worth $82,766.00. These grants will provide the district with middle school equipment, industry certification training, and teacher training, a teacher mentorship program, and Snap-on Measurement Training equipment. This grant money will supplement local and federal funding used to create college and career-ready students. The new school year begins soon and what a great way to start!
