Tennessee State School Board Visits BCHS

Bradley Central High School Career and Technical teachers and students hosted the Tennessee State School Board, members of the Bradley County School Board and County Commission on Friday April 22, 2016.  The visit included lunch provided in the BCHS Fine Arts lobby prepared by Culinary Arts.  Evan Wooden, Emily Carey, Autumn Johnson, and Morgan Mitchell, CTE students, shared the projects, successes, and classes of Bradley Central High School’s agriculture, business and marketing, and teaching as a profession programs.  Paula Deal, cosmetology instructor, showcased integration and collaboration projects bringing relevance and engagement to the classroom.  After lunch, tours were conducted in health science, mechatronics, welding, and machining classrooms.  Tours outlined the focus and vision of Career and Technical Education: to provide the way for students to be ready to enter into college and career.  Patrick Spangler, BCHS business instructor, presented the vision and served as the CTE representative for this luncheon.  In Bradley County we are excited about the future of Career and Technical Education and even more excited about possibilities we can offer our students!
